Company Mission

Clean Energy pioneered renewable natural gas (RNG) as a vehicle fuel in the U.S. and we continue to be the largest provider of RNG for transportation. We have an extensive network of nearly 600 fueling stations across North America, and can deliver RNG to any station, public or private. Renewable fuel and station infrastructure sales and financing is the focus of the role.

SUMMARY: The Product Engineer will be responsible for supporting process deliverables associated with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) equipment and facilities. This role requires the ability to make informed decisions in developing design layouts while adhering to stringent specifications.

Additionally, the Product Engineer will be expected to plan, organize, and oversee the integration of comprehensive engineering design projects within their designated area of responsibility. The Product Engineer will manage projects and assignments of moderate complexity and expanded scope.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Work with the client, sales, and project management in developing designs for new RNG and LNG equipment. Ensure designs adhere to safety regulatory requirements and meet company safety policies.
  • Create comprehensive packages that include PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, and various equipment datasheets and calculations.
  • Review rough drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from sales engineers and project managers to create conceptual drawings for new facilities and equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve natural gas processing equipment to optimize safety and product quality, and reduce costs.
  • Create 2D and 3D drawings to define the complete assembly of equipment and overall production flow of equipment.
  • Assist in equipment prototype builds and testing. Create test plans, test reports, and present test results to project management and/ or the customer.
  • Works collaboratively with operations personnel in design of product and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
  • Maintain an understanding of safety codes, and specifications applicable to assigned projects to ensure engineering design adherence to established practices.
  • Formulate plans, designs, and bill of materials for the construction or modernization of fueling stations, and other natural gas processing facilities.
  • Manage design and drawings of multiple projects simultaneously that are in various stages of project execution. Meet on-time delivery and budget of projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering. 3 to 5 years of technical experience in natural gas processing, compression equipment, and combustion equipment. Strong understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer principles. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Professional Engineer License preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, 2D and 3D drawings, technical documents, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and deliver oral presentations in a clear and succinct manner. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The ability to work with engineering concepts and fundamentals of algebra, plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; aptitude for applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Solid Works, Mathcad, and ERP/ MRP Platforms, such as SAP, Salesforce, and D365.
