Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a Deburring Tech role to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. The Swiss Machining Deburring Technician is responsible for set up and operation of deburring equipment to remove excess materials or burrs from surfaces on or in various plastics and metals to meet established quality and efficiency guidelines and customer specifications.

This is an on-site position.

Shift: 2nd shift: Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am, could also accommodate a 5-8's schedule.

The typical pay range for this role: $22-$26/hour. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.

Essential Duties:

  • Clean, count and package parts per the work instructions.
  • This will include proper labelling of packages by using weight scales, hand counting and the use of the ERP system to accurately enter both good and scrap quantities.
  • Set up and operate deburring equipment with minimal supervision in accordance work instructions, blueprints and operation sheets per customer requirements.
  • Follow job traveler standard rates and report out using hour by hour board to meet or exceed the production rate and scrap requirements as driven by the ERP system.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs verbally or by documenting in shift to shift transfer books.
  • Reports machine, material and quality concerns or issues to leads/ Supervisors.
  • Pay close attention to details including chips, cracks, missing features and discoloration. An ability to work well with hands on small parts.
  • Verify all products meet quality specifications visually by using a microscope and dedurring tools in accordance with specifications or other Quality System requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Ability to read and write in English, comprehend and follow work instructions.
  • Able to use measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, dial indicators
  • Strong computer skills, to include Excel and Word
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Manufacturing environment, exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, oil and water. Sitting, Standing, Walking, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching, Talking, Seeing, Hearing
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
