Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an AWS Cloud Developer to be a part of Commodity Futures Trade Commission (CFTC) Data Engineering and Processing (DEAP) team. Peraton serves as a valued partner to essential government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, civilian, health, and state and local markets. This position is Hybrid, required to work onsite some days, must be within the DC, MD, VA area.

What you will do:

    Lead the strategic planning and execution of migrating and maintaining large complex CFTC datasets/data loader applications to modern cloud environments, specifically leveraging AWS cloud technologies.
  • Drive architectural design decisions, defining system frameworks and core technologies tailored to enhance scalability, performance, and reliability for cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
  • Provide senior technical leadership and mentoring within agile teams, ensuring high-quality delivery of software projects through effective collaboration and efficient processes.
  • Coordinate closely with stakeholders across teams to manage integration and interface requirements, ensuring clear communication and alignment with overall business objectives..
  • Design and develop cloud-native solutions. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client's environment using current cloud capabilities.
  • Develop Databases, Data Warehouses and the ETL applications and infrastructure necessary to populate them.
  • Troubleshooting and performance tuning services in development, test and production environments.
  • Maintain document and diagram cloud solutions, gathering requirements to support the platform and systems.


Qualifications

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience; Additional 4 years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree.
  • Professional experience in software development, including substantial experience in technical leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience architecting and executing systems to cloud platforms, particularly utilizing AWS services such as, AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, EC2, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, ECS/EKS, Sage Maker AI, and SAS
  • Experience with C#, Python, and SQL
  • Experience with various databases such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift
  • Experience/knowledge of XML, FIXML, FPML is a plus
  • Experience communicating with business users and stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to connect the dots of technical work to big picture plan.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance (Public Trust).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud Computing, software development, Machine learning, statistical and mathematical analytics.
  • Experience working in the financial regulatory and compliance sector, knowledgeable with derivates markets, options and futures contract.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a software engineering lead role, demonstrating strong capabilities in mentoring, guiding teams, and overseeing successful project outcomes
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL and AWS RedShift databases

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
