HealthPartners Institute sponsors 10 graduate medical education residencies and fellowships accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) and the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

Responsibilities:

Directs operations of graduate medical education



  • Collaborate with graduate medical education program directors, site directors, managers and coordinators to identify opportunities for improvement in graduate medical education
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic and annual plans to achieve desired goals for graduate medical education
  • Develop and maintain operating policies, procedures and work standards for GME including facilitating annual proposal of trainee benefits and stipends to GME
  • Leads GME team personnel including recruitment, retention, performance improvement and termination, supporting professional development and growth goals
  • Provides oversight of GME affiliation agreements and including master, program and negotiation of annual financial addendums
  • Oversees GME FTEs including all program budget development, analysis, communication and external subcommittee requests, addendum negotiations and provides related support to training programs
  • Provides oversight of GME trainee onboarding and orientation processes and procedures, ensuring compliance to Medicare standards
  • Represents HealthPartners in regional and national GME initiatives through organizations such as MMCGME, AHME, AIAMC and others



Directs accreditation and quality of HealthPartners clinical learning environment



  • Collaborate and ensure DIOs have resources needed to maintain oversight of graduate medical education across HealthPartners ensuring that the Institution and the HealthPartners Institute GME training programs are in compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate and ensure Institutional coordinator has resources needed to proactively administer day-to-day operations
  • Support residency program leaders in the areas of accreditation requirements, policies and procedures and program management
  • Monitor environmental factors (ex. federal and state policies, accreditation requirements) and assess implications for the training programs



Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with GME and undergraduate education partners within HealthPartners and externally



  • Develops and maintains effective relationships across the organization to facilitate the educational mission of HealthPartners
  • Develops and maintains relationships with appropriate medical leadership at partner Institutions


Hours / Location:



  • Monday - Friday, Days
  • Position is housed at the HealthPartners corporate office in Bloomington. Local travel is expected to Regions Hospital in St. Paul and Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
  • Hybrid work requires being on-site at least 3 days/week


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in lieu of degree
  • Operations, budgeting and finance experience in healthcare required if no GME experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Graduate Medical Education administration experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
