Responsibilities

  • A therapy PCT, also known as a mobility tech or mobility specialist, is responsible for assisting individuals with mobility challenges in achieving greater independence and improving their quality of life while receiving services within the hospital.
  • They work closely with Patients who have physical limitations, injuries, or age-related mobility issues to assist in providing appropriate mobility interventions.
  • A mobility tech works under the supervision and direction of nursing, and duties include assisting patients with daily mobility activities such as transfers, standing, ambulating, and toileting. Observes patients' progress and provides updates for the clinical team on the status of the patients' mobility and level of assistance.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal and department qualifications and standards of performance.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must have BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.

  • Experience in an acute care hospital.

  • Interest in pursuing a career in a healthcare-related field.
