**Hours: Overnight / 11:00pm to 7:30am** $ Eligible for Shift Differential $
Responsibilities

A PrairieCare Security Officer is responsible for the day to day activities of ensuring a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff. Security Officers work as a member of a unified team that provides a safe and secure environment by working collaboratively with all sites, departments, and agencies.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Creates a positive environment with quality customer service
  • Responds to Emergency Codes
  • Assists with Emergency Code Drills
  • Uses security technology to control access and monitor the facility
  • Screens visitors, patients and patient belongings
  • Conducts patrols and escorts visitors and staff
  • Investigates incidents and completes appropriate reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Performs other various duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Associates or Bachelors in a safety or security related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in security, law enforcement, military or related field
  • Preferred knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care standards and quality of care
  • Great Customer Service Skills
  • Trustworthy and Honest
  • Ability to use sound judgment and decision-making skills in crisis situations and implementing emergency response procedures
  • Ability to maintain self-control in volatile or hostile situations
  • Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
  • Able to work alone and with minimal supervision

Pay range for this position is $18.00 to $23 depending on education and experience.
