About the Role Tufts Medicine is seeking a seasoned, innovative, and strategic System Director, Content Strategy to lead and execute a comprehensive, results-driven content strategy across our complex and matrixed organization. This individual will be responsible for creating, curating, and distributing high-impact content that enhances Tufts Medicine's reputation, strengthens its brand presence, and fosters engagement with both internal and external stakeholders while ensuring content strategies are data-driven, measurable, and aligned with enterprise objectives. The Director will play a critical role in developing content that elevates Tufts Medicine's brand and reinforces its leadership in the healthcare space. This includes leveraging content to ensure Tufts Medicine's clinical and academic achievements are recognized regionally, nationally, and internationally. The ideal candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial mindset, thriving in a fast-paced environment and driving creative, disruptive thinking in content creation. This position will oversee foundation grant writing, multimedia production, and the management of all social media channels for the enterprise, ensuring a cohesive and impactful content strategy across all touchpoints. Additionally, the Director will ensure the website is optimized for content performance and continuously monitor the ongoing performance of all content to ensure it meets business goals and resonates with target audiences. The Director will also focus on elevating engagement across all content touchpoints, supporting a brand bonding ladder, and implementing proven sales or business development funnel strategies. This includes leveraging A/B testing and other sophisticated strategies and tactics to continually optimize content for maximum effectiveness and engagement. The Director will work closely with the Director, Brand and Digital Strategy and the Director, Communications Strategy to ensure an integrated and cohesive content approach across all platforms. Job Description Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration. 2. Ten (10) years of management experience in content strategy and content creation. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Ten (10) years of experience in content strategy and content creation, preferably within a large, complex healthcare system, academic medical center, or research-driven organization. 2. Proven success in developing and executing integrated content strategies across multiple platforms, including digital media, print, podcasts, social media, and blogs. 3. Existing relationships and routine experience in creating and distributing content that secures national media coverage, engages with clinical journals, podcasts, blogs, and social media influencers to amplify the organization's clinical and academic voice. 4. Experience overseeing foundation grant writing efforts, crafting compelling proposals and narratives that support fundraising goals. 5. Strong background in multimedia production, with the ability to create and oversee the development of videos, podcasts, and digital content that aligns with Tufts Medicine's mission and goals. 6. Experience managing and optimizing social media channels, ensuring content is tailored to engage diverse audiences and align with organizational objectives. 7. Experience managing and optimizing website content, including performance analysis and ensuring it meets organizational objectives. 8. Strong executive presence with the ability to advise and influence senior leadership on content strategy and messaging. 9. Experience managing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Develops and executes a comprehensive enterprise-wide content strategy that aligns with Tufts Medicine's mission, vision, and business priorities. 2. Oversees the creation and distribution of content across multiple platforms, including digital, print, social media, podcasts, blogs, website, and other channels, ensuring consistency and alignment with enterprise goals. 3. Elevates engagement by developing content that supports a brand bonding ladder and integrates with sales or business development funnel strategies to nurture and convert leads. 4. Implements A/B testing and other sophisticated methods to optimize content performance and ensure continuous improvement across all channels. 5. Continuously monitors the performance of content across all platforms, including the website, social media, and multimedia channels, and leverage insights to optimize and improve content strategies. 6. Leverages data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure content effectiveness, optimize messaging, and demonstrate impact. 7. Manages the development and oversight of foundation grant writing, creating compelling narratives that align with Tufts Medicine's mission and fundraising priorities. 8. Leads multimedia production efforts to create engaging videos, podcasts, and other digital content that showcases Tufts Medicine's expertise, innovations, and impact on healthcare. 9. Manages and optimizes all social media channels for Tufts Medicine, ensuring content is strategically aligned with organizational goals and maximizes engagement across platforms. 10. Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to create engaging content that highlights Tufts Medicine's research breakthroughs, clinical innovations, and the impact of philanthropy on patient care. 11. Drives content strategies to support recruitment and retention, enterprise culture, clinical trials, government affairs, and advocacy. 12. Cultivates relationships with media, influencers, and key stakeholders to enhance Tufts Medicine's visibility and reputation regionally, nationally, and internationally. 13. Partners with the Director, Enterprise Brand and Digital Strategy to ensure content aligns with overall brand messaging and communications. 14. Uses Agile methodology and project management tools to manage content workflows, improve efficiency, and drive timely execution of initiatives. 15. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, research, recruitment and retention, and advocacy, to align content and maximize impact. 16. Ensures content is optimized for maximum reach and engagement, amplifying Tufts Medicine's leadership in healthcare innovation and clinical care. Physical Requirements: 1. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending/descending stairs, and operating office equipment. 2. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate, and exchange information. 3. Ability to see and read computer displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers and symbols. 4. Requires manual dexterity using fine hand manipulation to operate computer keyboard. Skills & Abilities: 1. Ability to leverage metrics and analytics to continuously optimize content for effectiveness and audience engagement. 2. Deep understanding of healthcare, academic medicine, behavioral health, research, and philanthropic storytelling. 3. Entrepreneurial mindset-able to bring creative, disruptive thinking to content creation in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. 4. Exceptional writing, editing, and content creation skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences. 5. Proficiency in project management systems and Agile methodology, ensuring content initiatives are efficient, iterative, and results-driven.
