Compensation Grade: P22Compensation Details: Minimum: $81,696.00 - Maximum: $81,696.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPQS) - Health Data InnovationJob Description: Responsibilities The Research Scientist II (RSII) will work in Office of Science and Technology, contributing to the development and implementation of the epidemiology, surveillance, and evaluation activities for prioritized projects related to various health conditions. In collaboration with staff in this office and other programs in the Office of Public Health, the incumbent will conduct data cleaning, processing, and linkage and contribute to the development of analysis plans. The incumbent will analyze individual and linked datasets related to critical projects such as emerging health conditions, infectious diseases, and environmental surveillance. The incumbent will contribute to developing and implementing data query applications and data dashboards using SAS Viya and other visualization software. The incumbent will also conduct analyses to support policy evaluation and decision-making in response to emerging conditions. Other appropriate related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of research experience; or a Master's degree in a related field and two years of research experience; or a Doctorate in a related field. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Public Health or related field and two years of experience in public health research, surveillance, and evaluation. Proficiency in data analysis, database and statistical software, interpretation, and dissemination of data for varied audiences, and provision of surveillance and evaluation technical assistance. Background and experience with analyzing large public health data sources. Intermediate or advanced proficiency using SAS including proficient use of SAS BASE, SQL, GRAPH, STAT, ODS, MACRO, and VIYA. Intermediate proficiency using Tableau for data visualization and dashboard. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in groups. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
