The Shift Supervisor is a leadership position that reports to the Operations Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing plant during their assigned shift, ensuring that production targets are achieved, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are strictly followed. The Shift Supervisor will lead a team of production workers, supported by two area foremen, and will coordinate with other departments to address any issues that arise during the shift. The shift supervisor is responsible for the safety and productivity of all personnel working the rotating shift. This position will engage and assist all Operator roles on shift while managing and overseeing all shift operations in a manner that enhances the plant's safety, engagement, cost, productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer service. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Embraces and advocates for plant and corporate policy, rules and safety regulations. Verifies that policy or rules are adhered to by all team members.
- Foster a work environment of mutual trust and respect, open and honest communications, teamwork and a passion for winning.
- Leads shift/department through implementation of TPM procedures
- Responsible for coaching and coordinating all employee related development/training, issue resolution, and assessing individual team member performance
- Provides candid feedback regarding performance and expectations to all team members on a regular basis.
- Lead investigations, maintain appropriate documentation, track, counsel, and execute coaching and corrective action when performance issues occur.
- Conducts thorough investigations relating to safety incidents or other employee personnel matters that may arise.
- Verifies that products are made per the specifications and standard work, and that products meet or exceed all quality standards. Follows reaction procedure for quality concerns and enforces "Hold Tag" procedures.
- Makes production changes per schedule or per direction from the Operations Manager.
- Responsible for filling required staffing needs and assigns team resources as required.
- Monitor and measure upset conditions, and help team respond safely and effectively.
- Addresses any process or equipment issues in the area, taking corrective action or contacting and working with Maintenance to resolve. As required, escalates to the appropriate personnel information on operational problems and what corrective actions were taken.
- Teaches, mentors and coaches team members to raise the level of performance in safety, quality, procedures and goals to optimal levels, always striving to engage and grow their team.
- Assists in preventive maintenance, minor maintenance and adjustment of assigned equipment as needed. Verifies operator-based care P.M.'s are completed and documented as scheduled, and that operators work with the maintenance team during any machine operation issues to safely resolve.
- Submit work requests into SAP system and teaches other Line team members how to submit work requests.
- Backfills the other production shift supervisors as needed.
- Fills in other production roles as needed.
- Leads and directs team through DMS meetings.
- Spend 70% of your time on the plant floor with the production team.
- Perform PSI's, PFW's, and LPA's as directed by plant leadership team.
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the Operations Manager.

- Must be able to secure and maintain forklift driver license
- Must have to ability to do basic mathematical calculations
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES The employee must be able to:
- Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument
- Can use Microsoft Office software (Excel, e-mail, PowerPoint, Word)
- Operate SAP system, and I-POP system
- Operate Machine Control and Process Explorer Aspen Tech software
