Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides technical assistance in support of the quality systems to ensure product design/quality specifications are maintained. The job includes the programming and operation of coordinate measuring machines (CMM), FARO, Digital Scanning equipment and calibration of gages both variable and attribute, and any other equipment deemed essential by QC Management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

* Reviews product prints and design specifications to develop programming for measuring equipment, such as a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Faro Arm, and Digital 3D scanning devices. Additional technology may be adopted as needed to meet measurement requirements and demands.

* Performs dimensional layouts of component parts, supplied parts, finished goods, and tooling, utilizing such types of equipment as stated above.

* Create bubble maps to correlate inspection data to show results of inspection.

* Maintains inspection and data files in addition to calibration records.

* Provides support for the design of gages and coordinates, when necessary, the outside sourcing of new gages including submitting design to job shops for bids.

* Performs gage capability studies, documents the results.

* Supports others as requested in support of quality control plans, verification and documentation, research and development, and engineering.

* Performs and/or participates in 5S housekeeping, team activities, dress codes, safety rules and all other applicable company policies and procedures.

* Maintain CMM, FARO, and Digital Scanning equipment in working condition with basic cleaning and maintenance to ensure calibration maintenance.

* Perform other duties as requested by the QC Manager or representative.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

* Completion of high school and technical training that provided sufficient advanced math and computer skills with related technical exposure are required.

* Three (3) years of Manufacturing experience or two (2) years technical training with CAD / Tooling emphasis is required. Work experience within a test lab, R & D and manufacturing setting would be helpful.

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal skills, with the ability to keep good records is required.

* The ability to read a blueprint is required.

* Basic mathematical aptitude.

* Ability to work with minimal supervision and multitask is required.

* Must have a thorough knowledge of the company products, terminology, and design specifications.

* Requires the ability to read and interpret geometrically dimensional tolerancing blueprints, ISO standards, ANSI/ASME Y14.5M (1994) and related technical documents.

* Must have advanced math skills including trigonometry and geometry.

* Must have computer skills and proficiency in specified software applications ranging from Excel to SPC databases.

* Must be familiar with company policies and procedures for the outsourcing of test and inspection measuring equipment.

* Requires technical skills and knowledge for programming CMM, and calibration of attribute and variable gages.

* Must have thorough knowledge of relevant sections of applicable quality system standards and associated documents such as PPAP, MSA, APQP and SPC manuals.

* Responsible for accuracy: Programs CMM and calibrates gages on which others depend for product accuracy to specifications, control plans and quality testing. Most errors would be detected during subsequent procedures; however, undetected errors could have far reaching affects and damage company reputation.

* Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).

* Experience with Polyworks software.
