Job Description:

  • Someone that has managed at least 5+ people in a warehouse manufacturing/distribution environment.
  • Looking for someone that works on the manufacturing/distribution floor with the employees and drives change and improve efficiencies.
  • Manages and understand metrics and able to present to the team. Have a strong background in managing a team in a Shipping/Receiving/Stockroom environment.
  • Responsible for the direction of assigned programs and/or production output and processes, and the coordination of team activities to accomplish specific objectives.
  • Typically, a first-line team leader over a manufacturing or operations support team. Functional areas within operations include: Materials and Production Planning and Control.


Essential Functions:

  • Plans and schedules team activities to meet established goals requiring coordination and shared information with other related teams.
  • Direction given to team members is often guided by established policy, standard practice and/or precedents, and internal schedules.
  • Tracks short-term progress to performance measures and schedules and ensures follow-up and corrective action as needed. On a limited basis, may work directly on production; provides hands-on training to team members.
  • Frequently a first-line team leader over an operations area to maintain smooth work flow, meet schedules, and resolve internal systems problems.
  • Maintains liaison with other teams and team leaders and coordinates problem resolution.


Education:

  • B.A. /B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline and demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results.
  • Two or more years of training and direct experience within the manufacturing area or specialty function.
  • Practical knowledge of products, manufacturing processes, and/or specialty areas in quality or operations support. Ability to analyze reports and information using available information systems (e.g. MRP or other planning/execution systems). General knowledge of business and government regulations (e.g. manufacturing specifications, FAA, safety).
  • Previous team participation skills and ability to develop team members through skill assessment and training. Supportive of team involvement and process. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
