We are seeking a senior attorney to serve in the position of Director or Senior Director with a focus on responsibility for supporting the Company's Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Review and advise on issues involving the implementation of AI Help to develop the company's AI policies Review, negotiate, and advise on agreements for AI services Ability to draft, negotiate and advise on a variety of complex commercial agreements (e.g., inbound and outbound technology licenses, service agreements, and software and SaaS agreements), including but not limited to, those related to AI Advise on contract interpretation and risk, policies and regulations related to Verisign's business, including but not limited to, those related to AI Understand and advise on applicable U.S. and international laws and regulations Ensure members of the Law Department are apprised of material developments and matters in your areas of responsibility on a timely basis Operate in a collaborative manner Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required: J.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited law school 12+ years of legal experience, preferably with experience in an in-house legal role in a technology/internet field; familiarity with the domain name industry a plus Experience working on AI transactions Must have strong contract drafting skills with expertise in technology and software licensing Experience advising senior executives Well-honed analytical and project management skills with the ability to run multi-faceted projects Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a team of attorneys and work cross-functionally Experience advising on intellectual property issues pertaining to software licensing and international laws Must be admitted to the Virginia bar or eligible for admission as a Virginia Corporate Counsel Personal Traits and Attributes: Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task Demonstrated aptitude to quickly absorb and apply new information and function as a trusted legal advisor who provides effective and practical advice Self-motivated team player with the ability to drive projects, identify and resolve issues and earn the confidence and cooperation of business leaders and legal colleagues Receptive to collaboration on work product and guidance from more senior attorneys This position is based in Reston, Virginia. The pay range for Director - Legal is $199,100 - $269,300. The pay range for Sr Director and Senior Corporate Counsel is $228,900 - $309,700. The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above for each title, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
