What you'll do:

Western Alliance Bank (WAL) is seeking a Quantitative Analyst with strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with high attention to detail. Critical to success in this position is an understanding of Data 101 concepts, experience with data science tools, such as Python, R and MS SQL that will assist in support of Enterprise Data Modeling Team. This person should have independent problem-solving skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and an aptitude to strategize, evaluate roadblocks, and assist all team members as needed. Preferred: Finance or Modeling background. Power BI, and Tableau optional.
  • Support model production processes with expertise in cleaning and manipulating data; analyzing large complex datasets; and building automated data processing using programming languages such as MS SQL, Python and R.
  • Develop User Acceptance Testing process design, implementation, and deployment to meet strict regulatory SOX and Model Risk requirements
  • Use Microsoft software applications to build/update model documentation, project plans, flow charts, and provide data lineage documentation
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the bank's operations, business model, and production systems to design strategies for automation of new models
  • Develop reports and model output using Tableau and other Business software and distribute to internal customers

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics/related field or finance
  • 1-2 years Python
  • 1-2 years MS SQL
  • 1-2 years R
  • Data management strategies, and Production management strategies, including managing change control
  • Data Analysis with large complex data sets and data warehouses
  • Business analysis and requirements documentation
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Project Management skills, some experience with MS Project and MS Visio
