We are looking for a motivated and dependable Shop Technician to join our team in Nicholasville, Kentucky. This position offers a unique opportunity to support a wide range of projects. SUMMARY OF POSITION

Technician duties include but are not limited to assisting within the shop with equipment maintenance and repairs, loading/unloading gear and supplies for projects, and working on projects to assist with various inspections and construction activities in support of both diving and engineering-related projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend and hold daily field and shop safety meetings to include active involvement. Providing suggestions, asking questions, and helping all involved stay safe for all associated tasks.
  • Capable and knowledgeable of learning and executing a variety of inspection or construction-related tasks while working in the shop and/or on field projects. These tasks could include working with wood, steel, concrete, timber, and other construction materials.
  • Performing equipment maintenance and repairs, fabrication, and other related tasks.
  • Utilize experience and knowledge to troubleshoot technical issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Understand project scopes, associated tasks, and the expectations to complete those in a safe and efficient manner.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid US Driver's License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10hr or 30hr OSHA General Construction Course
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) commercial license
  • Heavy equipment operation experience
  • Mobile crane certification
  • Experience with fabrication and a certified welder
  • Mechanic background
  • Current Blood Borne Pathogens, First Aid, CPR, O2 Administration certifications.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY

The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the required duties of this position.

The ability and availability to readily work overtime and perform duties outside of normal working hours may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

COMPENSATION

The hourly pay range for positions in Kentucky is $15.00 an hour.
