Job Summary

VSolvit is seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support a key government program. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between stakeholders, end users, and technical teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements and workflows. The Business Analyst will contribute to improving systems and processes by delivering actionable insights and ensuring that functional and technical specifications align with mission needs. This mid-level role requires strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills to ensure successful project execution in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
  • Translate business needs into clear and concise functional specifications, user stories, and process flows
  • Facilitate meetings, interviews, and workshops with end users and technical staff to gather information and validate requirements
  • Support development and QA teams by clarifying requirements and participating in solution design discussions
  • Assist in the development of test plans, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation of solutions
  • Create and maintain business process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and user experience
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and IT deliverables throughout the project lifecycle

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a government or federal contracting environment
  • Strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and tools (e.g., BPMN, use cases, user stories)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, JIRA, or Confluence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • If applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal or Department of Defense (DoD) IT projects
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel advanced functions)
  • Understanding of system development life cycle (SDLC) and software implementation processes
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
  • Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA, IIBA-CCBA)
