Job Overview Join our team in "Doing the Most Good" as a Duty Driver at our Adult Rehabilitation Center. We're seeking a responsible and courteous driver to transport beneficiaries and employees while representing The Salvation Army with professionalism. This role is crucial in ensuring safe and timely transportation services while maintaining vehicle safety and security. Pay Rate: $15.00 Status: Full Time, 40 Hours per Week Key Responsibilities Transportation Services
- Transport beneficiaries to and from work therapy assignments
- Transport Salvation Army personnel for official business
- Deliver packages and inter-office mail as requested
- Plan and execute daily route coverage efficiently
- Report any pick-up problems immediately to supervisor through dispatcher
Vehicle Management
- Ensure safety and security of assigned vehicle
- Conduct daily inspections of air, water, oil, and other maintenance needs
- Promptly report any accidents involving vehicle, personal injury, or property damage
- Responsible for loading and unloading during deliveries
- Secure vehicle at end of day
Professional Conduct
- Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
- Ensure all passengers are treated courteously
- Maintain a neat appearance including clean clothing, clean shaven, neatly trimmed hair
- Follow proper dress code with tucked shirt and appropriate head gear
- Support the mission of The Salvation Army
Qualifications Education & Experience
- At least two years licensed driving experience
- Passing grade on the "Coaching the Experienced Driver" self-study course (or willing to complete)
- Successfully completed The Salvation Army Road Test
Required Licenses
- Valid driver's license to operate location's truck types
- Clear MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) report
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions
- Strong communication skills with customers and helpers
- Basic math skills for calculating weight, volume, and distance
- Ability to plan and organize daily routes effectively
- Proficient in using two-way radio equipment
Physical Requirements
- Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Reach with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand and walk
- Occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Must regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Frequently lift/move up to 100 pounds
- Occasionally lift/move more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception
- Must wear back guard when doing substantial lifting or moving
