Description Under direct supervision, assists the Radiology department members in providing efficient and safe patient care. Assists registered technologists with multiple types of radiologic examinations. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assists registered technologist with the performance of radiologic procedures; including reviewing order information, preparation of the room, and positioning patient. It does notinclude making radiologic exposures. 2. Reports pertinent patient information to technologist or Radiology staff. Obtains medical assistance for any patient who becomes ill while in the area, and provides patient comfort. 3. Performs tasks according to hospital/department policies or standards of care. Adheres to departmental established schedules and policies including but not limited to double identification and hand hygiene. 4. Facilitates patient throughput through knowledge of unit and departmental routines. 5. Communicates effectively with staff, students, patients, and the public. 6. Follows oral and written instructions. 7. Serves as a role model for other staff with regard to attitude, motivation, and communication skills. 8. Demonstrates respect for all members of the University community in the course of performing one's duties and in response to administrators, supervisors, coworkers, and customers. 9. Welcomes the richness of talent from a diverse workforce and recognizes that diversity brings stimulation, challenge, and energy that contribute to a productive and effective workplace. 10. Implements the GET model and utilizes service recovery when appropriate. Qualifications: Students currently enrolled in Radiation Sciences or Radiologic Technology Program. Additional Duties * Calling patients * Cleaning scan/prep rooms * Setting up cameras * Escorting patients to the bathroom * Positioning patients on the camera * Escorting patients to the waiting room * Ordering supplies * Obtaining Height/Weight * Getting patients comfortable in prep room * Stocking all rooms with supplies/linen |
