Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a full-time Perfusionist to join the team. We are currently hiring full-time (40 hrs/week). The role will require working varied shifts and schedule + on-call. Perfusionist 1 Job Responsibilities:

• The Perfusionist 1 operates extracorporeal equipment for surgical procedures. Provides cardiopulmonary bypass set-up, disassembly and maintenance for various surgical procedures (e.g. CABG, valve repair/replacements, VAD insertions, heart and lung transplants, non-complex aortic procedures and minimally invasive procedures).
• Collaborates with internal teams for maintenance on Perfusion equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Participates in routine responsibilities related to the daily operations of the Perfusion department while maintaining professional requirements
• Other duties as assigned.

Perfusionist 1 Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a medical/science field or Perfusion technology. Completion of a perfusionist certificate.
• Experience: Zero - three years of relevant clinical experience or documented competency in required clinical skills and administration contribution. Prior training in adult cardiopulmonary bypass, autotransfusion, adult ECMO, Chemoperfusion or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Certified Clinical Perfusionist (ABCP) required within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start.
