Ameresco is actively seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Account Executive to strategically market and promote energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable technology solutions in commercial, industrial, institutional, government, and public housing markets. The Sr. Account Executive will target, qualify, and develop comprehensive financial and energy solutions for their clients. The sales professional will have proven sales skills with a strong aptitude for finance and the ability to understand and present cash-flows while building a co-authored client outcome.

The ideal candidate is a successful performance contracting, top selling performer working in the municipal or K12 market with proven sales success. An experienced K12 School Superintendent, Business Manager or Municipal leader will find this an exciting opportunity as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop thorough knowledge of energy industry, structure, trends, and issues to ensure full discovery and understanding of customer's primary business objectives and requirements. Work closely with consultants, assess market, teaming when appropriate and engage in conferences and speaking events.
  • Develop the sales strategy to exceed annual sales quotas.
  • Cultivate effective business relationships (C-Level, financial & technical) and communicate full scope of Ameresco solutions and services to meet customer energy savings requirements; Drive the decision-making process to close.
  • Provide account management processes, understand the assigned market, execute, and deliver progress and sales activity.
  • Understand local and national challenges faced by local government, K-12 school districts, (MUSH Markets) highly preferred;
  • Assist clients in contract process and financing.
  • Create and deliver customer focused proposals and manage customer agreements.
  • Manage sales and pipeline activity in Salesforce.
  • Perform Other Duties as Required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years (or equivalent) progressive experience marketing complex energy efficiency, renewable technology, and performance contracting solutions within energy services and target markets, including the ability to identify customer energy needs, effectively communicate energy solutions, and position Ameresco as provider of choice.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field desirable;
  • Active progress toward industry-related or advanced education preferred;
  • Experienced in lead development, account management skills and ability to close complex deals;
  • Proven sales track record of securing complex offerings to C-level management;
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Energy Conservation and Energy Legislation;
  • Extensive Knowledge of proactive prospecting at the financial decision-making level with building owners and executives at the C-level;
  • Be a motivated team player, always coachable and professional.
  • Understand public finance and operating budgets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer communication, and technical presentation skills;
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and positive business relationships;
  • Valid Drivers' License in good standing, issued by resident state required; and
  • Travel required.
