Perfusionist 1 Requirements



  • Education: bachelor's degree in a medical/science field or Perfusion technology. Completion of a perfusionist certificate within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience: Zero - three years of relevant clinical experience or documented competency in required clinical skills and administration contribution. Prior training in adult cardiopulmonary bypass, autotransfusion, adult ECMO, Chemoperfusion or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Certification:

    • Certified Clinical Perfusionist required within 12 months of hire.
    • Basic Life Support from AHA required within 6 months of hire.



Perfusionist 2 requirements



  • Education: bachelor's degree in a medical/science field or Perfusion technology. Completion of a perfusionist certificate within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience: three years of experience in documented clinical competency in all Perfusionist 1 skillsets and/or ability to perform and cover pediatric surgeries. Training in complex aortic procedures including thoracoabdominal, complete arch repairs with circulatory arrest and cerebral perfusion. Training in VAD device assembly, operation, troubleshooting and transport. Or documented competency in required clinical skills and administration contributions.
  • Certification:

    • Certified Clinical Perfusionist required upon start.
    • Basic Life Support from AHA required upon start.



Perfusionist 3 requirements:



  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a medical/science field or Perfusion technology. Completion of a perfusionist certificate
  • Experience: Five years of relevant clinical experience or documented competency in required clinical skills and administration contribution.
  • Certification:

    • Certified Clinical Perfusionist required upon start.
    • Basic Life Support from AHA required upon start.



Job Responsibilities including but not limited to:



  • You will operate extracorporeal equipment for surgical procedures.
  • To help achieve our mission, you will provide cardiopulmonary bypass set-up, disassembly and maintenance for various surgical procedures (e.g. CABG, valve repair/replacements, VAD insertions, heart and lung transplants, non-complex aortic procedures and minimally invasive procedures).
  • Collaborating with internal teams for maintenance on Perfusion equipment while adhering to safety guidelines is of vital importance.
  • Participating in routine responsibilities related to the daily operations of the Perfusion department while maintaining professional requirements is expected.
  • Other duties as assigned.
