Job Title: Electrician Lead A

Location: Pascagoula, Mississippi

General Function:

The Electrician Lead A supervises a team of electrical craft workers engaged in production, repair, and material handling processes. The position ensures compliance with company quality, safety, and productivity standards while managing daily operations in a cost-effective manner. This role reports to a Foreman, Superintendent, or other company leadership.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Assign daily tasks and schedules to hourly electrical workers.

* Record and enter time for hourly employees daily.

* Monitor work progress, provide technical guidance, and resolve operational issues.

* Assist management in planning manpower, procedures, equipment, and material needs based on production drawings.

* Ensure quality and safety standards are met during installation and repair work.

* Track and report on system and equipment installations.

* Verify mechanical completeness of systems and readiness for startup, testing, and commissioning.

* Ensure proper handling, calibration, and maintenance of company tools and test equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Accurately document job activity (e.g., number of cable terminations, foundations, cable tray lengths, etc.) including labor hours.

* Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and vendor manuals.

* Identify discrepancies between work in progress and build specifications.

* Apply knowledge of hazardous area classifications and IP ratings for compliant installations.

* Plan and organize work procedures effectively; anticipate equipment and labor needs.

* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

* Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards: DnV, ABS, USCG, API, MODU, NEC, IEEE, IEC.

* Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Experience & Education:

* Minimum of 8 years of experience in marine shipbuilding and offshore construction with emphasis on hazardous area installations.

* Completion of a formal electrical training program such as a 4-year apprenticeship, trade school, or vocational certification in industrial/commercial wiring (or equivalent).
