Director – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Brookfield Asset Management LLC) – Ensure business plan submissions align with accounting policies and aggregate data using the consolidation system to create summarized financial statements. Incorporate corporate assumptions into plans and distill them into clear presentations for senior management and the board. Assist in extending the 5-year plan into a 10-year plan for investor day presentations. Coordinate quarterly forecast reviews, identify and follow up on variances, and assess impacts based on business plans and macroeconomic factors. Compare actual results to forecasts and identify variances. Review weekly capital plan files, assess changes, and prepare a quarterly 24-month capital plan, highlighting key risks and changes. Create clear and comprehensible files and tables for ad-hoc analyses, utilizing reports and data from multiple systems. Collaborate closely with the parent entity to submit templates and deliverables, address inquiries, and facilitate meetings. Oversee junior team members, ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables. Perform financial analysis in support of capital planning and liquidity management. Analyze the changes to the capital needs and distributions and assess their impact on the overall liquidity position of our company. Employ financial models to develop solutions to financial problems and assess capital impact of transactions. Review quarterly forecast submissions from subsidiaries to identify unusual or unexpected variances. Collaborate with contacts at the relevant subsidiaries to analyze key strategies within the business plans, changes to the plans from prior year, priorities for the underlying businesses, and the largest risks to successful execution of the plans. Utilize the consolidation system to aggregate data and create summarized financial statements for the five-year plan period. Evaluate the five-year business plan submissions from subsidiaries and participate in their presentation meetings. Collaborate with relevant contacts to grasp the key strategies, updates from the previous year, primary priorities, and major risks associated with successful plan execution. Requirements: Master’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Financial Analysis, Accounting or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or in a related role. All of the required experience must have included experience with: managing capital and labor budgets and tracking expenses, headcount, and overtime costs within a large-scale budget framework; forecasting and presenting profit and loss statements and key performance indicators; partnering with project managers, HR, and accounting to analyze variances between actual and forecasted financial results, enhancing transparency and accountability in financial reporting; building and maintaining strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders; ensuring financial submissions and reports comply with rigorous accounting policies and standards; streamlining financial models to enhance the efficiency of identifying and addressing financial outliers; collaborating with project managers to produce comprehensive five-year operational budgets, reflecting the company's strategic goals and performance expectations; translating complex financial data into clear, impactful presentations for senior management and board review; utilizing advanced MS Excel functions, SAP, SQL and PowerPoint to create comprehensive financial models and impactful presentations; and conducting detailed statistical and data analysis to uncover trends and inform business strategies.
