Senior Associate

 Senior Associate – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Brookfield Asset Management LLC) – Perform complex financial analysis and valuation, conduct market research, assist with due diligence, write investment committee memorandums, and present investment recommendations.  Conduct research to support the development of investment strategies and to identify transaction opportunities.  Execute due diligence tasks in evaluating new and existing investment opportunities. Independently develop financial models for investment analysis. Assist with the preparation of presentations, memos, and other analyses to support new and existing investments. Participate in the ongoing management and monitoring of both the financial and operational aspects of portfolio investments, assisting management teams with various corporate development initiatives, and managing and coordinating internal financial reporting needs for portfolio investments.  Work with our business operations team to assist in developing operational improvement plans for new investments and improving performance at portfolio companies. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. All of the required experience must have included experience with: creating and using financial models, including discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout, and mergers and acquisitions models; applying valuation methods including comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and intrinsic valuation; using Microsoft Excel to build and maintain financial models, perform data analysis and create financial reports; interpreting and analyzing financial statements and market data to make informed recommendations; and using Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and FactSet to gather and analyze market data, including industry trends, economic indicators and competitor analysis. Salary: $270,000 - $375,000/yr. E-mail résumé to paula.vaux@brookfield.com.
