Investment Banking Associate, ECM

Investment Banking Associate, ECM – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Jefferies LLC) – Pitch and execute U.S. Equity Capital Markets (ECM) deals including initial public offerings, follow-on equity offerings, block equity trades, convertible offerings, and other equity-linked product offerings. Assist with strategic and financial analysis for preparation of pitch documentation and liaise with relevant investment banking and sales and trading teams. Execute mandated deals through client advisory work, the structuring and negotiation of legal documents. Assess the strategic and financial merits of proposed transactions for marketing purposes. Help maintain dialogue and relationships with existing ECM clients through continual marketing and advisory efforts with investment banking and financial sponsor teams, as well as the preparation of instructive materials and thoughtful analyses. Collaborate with coverage officers to identify, research and target potential ECM clients. Train junior bankers in day-to-day tasks and projects within the ECM team. Assist with the build out of the ECM platforms through recruiting, training and infrastructure development. Develop and maintain relationships with other market participants, advisors and the investment community. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in the position offered or in a related role. All of the required experience must have included experience with: executing equity capital markets deals; performing research on capital market conditions; analyzing financial accounting statements and valuations; and working with CapIQ, FactSet, Dealogic, Microsoft Excel, and Bloomberg Terminal.
