Vice President, Senior Developer

Vice President, Senior Developer – (job location is Jersey City, NJ; employer is Jefferies LLC) – Design and develop scalable distributed systems using Cloud technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure. Responsible for maintaining and establishing best practices and processes around code management, maintainability, and delivery. Design and develop enterprise web applications using JavaScript, Java, and its related frameworks such as Angular or Spring Boot. Lead the team of developers and provide technical direction to ensure the stability and accountability of Operations technology business deliverables. Analyze, research and redesign legacy systems using the new technologies to make them more robust and resilient. Establish processes and systems to effectively handle intraday feeds from various internal systems within the bank. Design robust payment systems for the bank. Participate in business meetings with various stakeholders to integrate multiple systems across the banks and to articulate and implement the outcomes of the meetings by analyzing the technical possibilities. Convert business requirements into technical solutions, design and implement them to automate manual processes which revolve around bank’s complex middle office operations business. Establish CI/CD pipelines for the source code deliverables and implement the source control for database changes. Design and develop applications with parallel processing capabilities to run in a multithreaded fashion. Setup and develop batch processes and ETL workflows using standard ETL/batch tools.  Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or in a related role. Three (3) years of the required experience must have included experience with: DevOps CI/CD pipelines and release management; Agile methodology; designing enterprise solutions for complex business requirements; cloud solutions; Big Data related technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Scala; Oracle; data layer and ETL process; JavaScript and JavaScript-based UI frameworks; REST APIs and RESTful Web services for micro-service architectures; and Java and J2EE, or related frameworks. This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our Jersey City, NJ office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location. Salary: $190,000/yr.
