PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration of Solvita's benefit and leave of absence programs. This role will manage the day-to-day benefits activities related to benefit enrollments, life events, benefit inquiries and leave of absence administration. Works closely with the Compensation and Benefits Manager on annual renewal, open enrollment, and implementation of new benefits programs and vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Administers Solvita benefit programs, including 401(k), medical, HSA, dental, life and disability coverages, supplemental benefits, tuition reimbursement and COBRA.
  • Provides exceptional customer service related to benefits enrollments, inquiries and leave requests.
  • Maintains and manages benefit enrollment data in HRIS database; reviews and processes enrollments and life events timely and verifies accuracy with benefit vendors.
  • Manages all aspects of the leave-of-absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, and disability-related requests.
  • Monitors and tracks leave of absence activity, supporting the return-to-work process in collaboration with HR.
  • Supports the benefit renewal process and participates in broker and vendor meetings.
  • Leads Open Enrollment process, including employee communications and HRIS updates.
  • Coordinates with benefit brokers and vendors for plan administration and resolution of employee issues.
  • Maintains compliance with DOL and ERISA regulations in relation to the administration of benefit programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience in employee benefit administration.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS




  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related field.
  • Customer service focused to meet employee needs.
  • Experience working in HRIS database.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • CEBS certification or progress toward certification.
