This role is pivotal in ensuring the perfect operation and maintenance of our wind turbines and Balance of Plant, contributing to a greener future. Our mission is ambitious, and we are determined to lead the way in balanced energy!

What You Will Do:

  • Implement Enbridge safety standards, procedures and ensure a positive safety culture.

  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with safe work practices, including electrical safety, at heights, control of hazardous energy, confined space, and cargo management.

  • Demonstrate integrity, strong initiative, work ethic, as well as a focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.

  • Actively participate in the completion of asset integrity inspections and unscheduled (minor and major) work.

  • Apply SCADA to support required work.

  • Identify risks and gaps in task execution in the operational environment of a Wind Turbine facility and apply mitigation methods with appropriate oversight.

Who You Are:

  • You possess a High School Diploma with applied mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, or equivalent experience. College Diploma or Technical School Certificate beneficial.

  • As a Level III technician, you will have at least 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Proficient with Scheduled/Standard work; Competent with Troubleshooting (basic and advanced).

  • Well Qualified with High Voltage Electrical Switching. Specific experience on Acciona Wind Turbines considered an asset.

  • Proficient understanding of wind power related systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, electrical, mechanical, and power plant systems.

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows programs, Wind Turbine SCADA Systems, Turbine Software Uploading, Maintenance Management Programs (Maximo).

  • Ability to successfully participate in all training courses such as first aid, CPR and AED, climb and rescue training, and confined space training.

The successful candidate will undergo various background screenings that include, but are not limited to, a 5-year driving record, criminal check, a company-sponsored medical, and drug testing. This is not a traveling Wind Technician position and will be assigned to one site.

Working Conditions:

Although the incumbent will be assigned to the Corpus Christi location, the technician may be called to travel to other Enbridge facilities as needed.

Role requires a valid Driver's License, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire and the ability to acquire a Passport.

Role will require rotating on call schedule to respond to emergencies and/or maintenance needs of the site (on a pre-determined, scheduled basis).

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Must meet requirements of fit for work which includes, but is not limited to, demonstrating hand, arm, back and leg coordination needed to ascend and descend a wind tower and complying with a weight restriction of 132 kg (or 290lb) total climbing weight. Comfort with completing physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions and comfort working in enclosed spaces and at heights of 300 ft. Employee understands that these requirements may be modified at the Company's discretion.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand sophisticated problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and connect with individuals via telephone.
