Operations and Maintenance Technician

Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Execute planned maintenance activities of plant and project equipment.
  • Execute repairs of plant and project equipment.
  • Execute plant operations IAW existing plant operating procedures.
  • Assist with execution of the lockout-tagout (LOTO) program.
  • Assist with maintaining Operations and Maintenance Procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist with coordination and execution of material receipt, issuance, and storage.
  • Works in multi-discipline teams on project-based work and ensures integration of design across multiple disciplines.
  • Works on a timeline, ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of work and initiates corrective measures to overcome delays.
  • Understands, complies and is responsible for working to Environmental Health and Saftey (EH&S) policies and procedures, and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) governing Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning activities.
  • Supports installation, testing and commissioning of site systems and components.
  • Relies on experience and judgment.
  • Works under limited supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements/Skills

  • Previous Maintenance experience in either Mechanical, Electrical or I&C disciplines.
  • Previous Power Plant Experience (Nuclear or Conventional).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft office.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and regulations.


Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to carry up to 15 pounds; handle and reach below shoulder
  • Ability to use hands to accomplish tasks as assigned
  • Ability to see close and distance and basic colors/shades
  • Ability to work alone and perform under deadline pressure
  • Ability to work outdoor and indoor activities under various conditions


Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in technical or science field or high school graduate with 5 years experience or equivalent

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience

Preferred Experience

  • Previous Nuclear Power Plant Experience
