WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Associate Director of University Career Services works with students, faculty, alumni, industry and campus partners to ensure the success of Georgia State University students in their transition from college to careers. The Associate Director of University Career Services oversees and implements comprehensive career services and professional development activities, including managing and leading professional career specialist and employer relations team. This includes all outreach activities related to career development programming for Georgia State University.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Building on the innovative approaches to student success that are the hallmark of Georgia State, the Associate Director of University Career Services duties and responsibilities include:



  • Lead a team of professional staff in career readiness programming and services.
  • Oversight for career counseling, internship development, graduate/ professional school counseling, and related initiatives.
  • Developing and implementing innovative programming to enhance student outreach and assure student engagement
  • As a member of the UCS leadership team, contributes to strategic planning and in the implementation of university, division, and department initiatives.
  • Serves as the liaison to faculty within GSU colleges and academic and co-curricular programs related to careers and career exploration programming
  • Management of collaborations with campus partners and academic advising in support of and progress to graduation and careers.
  • Hire, train, and manage peer student career ambassadors and graduate assistants.
  • Provide oversight for aspects of career management systems and assessments (Handshake, Focus 2, etc.).
  • Manage evaluation and assessment of services and programming.
  • Participate in campus-wide activities with occasions for weekend and evening programming.
  • Serve on committees and represent the university at professional associations.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and four years of supervisory/management experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience with employment counseling, career counseling, coaching and/or career services.
  • Large university setting.
  • Knowledge of career management systems.
  • Dynamic presenter
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
