Summary of Job Duties:The Computer Lab Administrator plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of six general access computer labs. Working closely with the Lab Manager, this position supports the hiring process, coordinates interviews, and manages staff scheduling to ensure consistent coverage across all lab locations.

This role also provides front-line (Tier-1) user support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and application software, addressing technical issues and processing support requests to maintain a high standard of service. The Administrator contributes to customer service efforts by establishing policies, resolving user concerns, and fostering a responsive support environment.

Ongoing responsibilities include monitoring and troubleshooting lab equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. The Administrator also oversees administrative tasks such as inventory management and supply ordering (e.g., toner, paper, office supplies), as well as coordinating timely deliveries to support uninterrupted lab operations.

To enhance operational efficiency, the incumbent is responsible for integrating documentation, procedures, and training materials into the Team Dynamix system. Additionally, this role enforces safety and security protocols to ensure a safe and secure computing environment.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is essential, as is the ability to maintain professional, collegial relationships with colleagues and students. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer applications, mathematics, or equivalent completion of technical training in a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate schedules for 12-15 student employees and screen candidates for lab positions

  • Experience with maintaining work files and developing procedures/documents to support lab staff operations

  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach as evidenced by application materials

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night and weekend shifts

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly lab environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in computer lab administration, IT support, or a related field

  • Familiar with hiring processes in Higher Education environments

  • Technical experience in troubleshooting computer hardware and software

  • Previous experience in a computer lab or similar technical support role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity/knowledge with various software, devices, and campus technologies

  • Knowledge of Mac and PC's

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

  • Familiarity with Team Dynamix or similar ITSM tools

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, staff, and faculty

  • Ability to travel to each of the labs in various buildings across campus

Salary Information:

$ 33,000.00 - Commensurate with education and experience
