MannKind Corporation focuses on the development and commercialization of innovative inhaled therapeutic products and devices to address serious unmet medical needs for those living with endocrine and orphan lung diseases. We are committed to using our formulation capabilities and device engineering prowess to lessen the burden of diseases such as diabetes, nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, and pulmonary hypertension. Our signature technologies - dry-powder formulations and inhalation devices - offer rapid and convenient delivery of medicines to the deep lung where they can exert an effect locally or enter the systemic circulation, depending on the target indication.

Position Summary:

The Vice President, Sales & Marketing will be a critical commercial leader, responsible for designing and executing the full commercial strategy for MannKind's Pediatric Endocrinology business. This role holds full accountability for both sales' execution and marketing performance-with direct impact on revenue growth, brand expansion, and market leadership.

This individual will architect and operationalize our go-to-market strategy, lead and scale high-performing teams, and partner cross-functionally to drive results across the field and brand lifecycle. We are seeking a proven executor - someone who thrives in high-impact environments, understands how to translate vision into measurable outcomes, and can drive performance at both strategic and tactical levels.

Principal Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Leadership:


  • Drive year-over-year sales growth by leading the field team to outperform against all commercial KPIs.
  • Define and communicate a bold, clear sales vision aligned with MannKind's growth goals and corporate objectives.
  • Build and reinforce a culture of accountability, recognition, and performance, ensuring each team member has a clear path to success and development.
  • Lead annual sales planning and execution, integrating insights from the brand planning process and market intelligence.
  • Partner with Training and HR to hire, develop, and retain top-performing field leaders who elevate execution.
  • Work closely with Business Analytics to build data-driven incentive programs, define KPIs, optimize targeting, and refine territory design and sales operations.
  • Cultivate and expand relationships with key HCPs, health systems, and strategic partners to drive market access and adoption.
  • Continuously assess field performance, accelerating high-potential talent and course-correcting where needed.
  • Lead national and regional sales meetings with purpose, aligning the field force around priorities, strategy, and execution plans.
  • Represent the sales function in any commercial partnerships or external engagements.
  • Ensure all sales activities are executed ethically and in full compliance with healthcare and industry regulations.


Marketing Strategy & Execution:


  • Lead the development and execution of performance-driven marketing strategies to accelerate brand growth, increase awareness, and expand share.
  • Activate MannKind's scientific platform through KOL engagement, medical education, and field readiness.
  • Oversee brand positioning, portfolio messaging, and marketing campaigns that drive measurable impact across customer channels.
  • Use market research and competitive intelligence to translate insights into bold strategies and differentiated positioning.
  • Lead the planning and launch of new products or indications, with end-to-end ownership of messaging, pricing, segmentation, and promotional execution.
  • Oversee the creation of sales tools, digital content, HCP materials, and demand-generation campaigns.
  • Drive commercial forecasting and performance analytics, optimizing budget spend through ROI analysis and scenario planning.
  • Foster strong engagement with customers and thought leaders through conferences, partnerships, and advocacy groups.
  • Build and lead a high-impact marketing team, focused on speed, collaboration, and creativity.
  • Manage the marketing budget with discipline, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all promotional, compliance, and regulatory standards.


Education and Experience Qualifications:



  • BA/BS required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive commercial leadership in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior commercial role with full P&L responsibility and national field force oversight.
  • 10+ years of demonstrated success in marketing leadership, including product launches, omnichannel campaigns, and portfolio strategy.
  • Deep expertise in U.S. healthcare and market access environments, particularly in specialty or chronic care markets.
  • Proven track record of building, leading, and scaling high-performing commercial teams that deliver results.
  • Exceptional strategic thinker with strong business acumen and an execution-focused mindset.
  • Demonstrated success in creating integrated go-to-market plans and translating strategy into field-level action.
  • Ability to drive alignment and outcomes across cross-functional teams including Market Access, Medical Affairs, Analytics, HR, and Finance.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • History of developing and advancing commercial talent and building succession pipelines.
  • Preference for candidates with West Coast alignment or willingness to relocate to support field-based leadership.





Pay Range: $256,000 - $384,000 per year
