The Manager of IT PMO is responsible for overseeing the IT Project Management Office (PMO) and ensuring the successful delivery of IT projects across the organization. This role is essential to advancing Hexion's business transformation and digital strategy. Key responsibilities include strategic planning, resource allocation, governance, and continuous improvement of PMO processes. The Manager collaborates closely with Hexion's Transformation Office to identify initiatives requiring IT project-level support and to integrate them into standardized PMO frameworks. Additionally, this role involves leading and mentoring a team of IT Project Managers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business priorities. Job Responsibilities
Management Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies regarding Project and Program Management tools and methodologies that align with business goals and IT objectives. Resource Allocation: Ensure optimal allocation of IT resources across projects, balancing workload and capacity. Process Improvement: Continuously improve PMO processes, methodologies, and standards. Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations managed. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the portfolio of projects. Performance Tracking: Use metrics and KPIs to monitor and report on project performance, ensuring adherence to defined scope, schedule, and budget Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, risks, and issues. Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to IT Project Managers, fostering their professional development. Ownership: Serve as the primary escalation point for project-related issues, ensuring timely resolution through coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Portfolio Manager Responsibilities: Project Oversight: Maintain oversight of all projects within the portfolio, ensuring they adhere to PMO standards and methodologies. Alignment with BRMs: Collaborate with IT Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) to ensure project requests are properly prioritized and detailed. Handoff Coordination: Ensure smooth and timely handoff between BRMs and Project Managers to facilitate efficient project initiation and planning. Support: Provide support to Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle, assisting with issue resolution and escalation. Portfolio Health Monitoring: Monitor the health of projects, staying updated on key activities and milestones. Trend Analysis: Track and analyze trends within the portfolio, providing insights to senior leadership. Process Definition: Define, maintain, and evolve portfolio-specific processes, templates, and documentation standards, tailoring as needed to fit project and organizational needs.
