Description

The Team Lead is responsible for organizing, planning, and leading production and manufacturing activities and employees in a value stream in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards to achieve established production schedules and quality. Assigns associates to jobs to be performed and provides follow-up during shift to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and on time requirements are met. This position is considered a working lead and will also perform the job of a production associate.

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of associates to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and customer service within the warehouse environment. This role involves championing a safety culture, driving continuous improvement, and collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders to meet daily operational objectives.

Primary Job Responsibilities



  • Lead and supervise the Warehouse team to ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all outgoing shipments are processed according to customer specifications and company procedures.
  • Inspect shipments to ensure correct packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to arrange pickups and deliveries.
  • Train and coach warehouse associates on best practices, safety procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records inventory control systems.
  • Implement and enforce safety and compliance standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend changes to improve efficiency
  • Drive and manage standardized work throughout the assigned area and move work through to completion.
  • Focus on workflow and eliminating waste throughout the process.
  • Responsible for consistently maintaining on-time shipping goals by ensuring jobs are started and completed on time.
  • Ensure equipment within the assigned area is always operating at 100% efficiency: schedules repairs and maintenance as necessary.
  • Assign associates to workstations and equipment daily. Make changes to assignments throughout the day as needed.
  • Oversee and provide on-going training and cross training for associates to ensure they can successfully maintain job quality and performance.
  • Take corrective action when necessary to improve the overall team performance.
  • Provide input related to staffing needs.
  • Use backlog report and open order reports to maintain awareness of overall scope of work, including large jobs, and balance the work between equipment and associates as necessary.
  • Provide accurate lead times with firm dates for jobs being produced.
  • Maintain 5S standards by conducting weekly audits and reporting scores.
  • Develop and actively uses LEAN skills to make Continuous Improvement changes.
  • Use organization techniques to set and accomplish team goals.
  • Resolve production-related Error Queue issues to get problems addressed and items back into production.
  • Submit daily production report summarizing job completions, open jobs, priorities and issues which occurred during the shift.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Organize and conduct inventory cycle counting of raw material and/or finished goods.


Qualifications



  • Associate's degree and/or three (3) years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse position with one (1) year in a leadership role.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and commitment to teamwork and team development.
  • Knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement and Lean principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively using oral, written and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, set goals, and develop systems for achieving those goals.


Compensation

The position offers a competitive base hourly rate of $20.00/hour + $1.00 per hour shift differential.
