As a Payroll Tax Accountant in our Omaha Corporate Office, you will be performing a wide range of duties supporting United States payroll taxes. HDR uses Oracle EBS as our Enterprise Resource and Planning (ERP) for Global Human Resource and US Payroll processing. Oracle EBS performs US payroll and payroll tax computations. Data is interfaced to ADP who performs tax remittances. This position will work closely with US Payroll and Payroll tax personnel to process and review US payroll taxes for each state. As part of these responsibilities this position will perform technical reviews of system calculations, maintain relevant internal controls, and work closely with internal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team members who provide technical support of our Oracle EBS US payroll platform. We are committed to training this position to perform all aspects of US payroll taxation and operate as a backup for other team members within Payroll. Primary Responsibilities As the United States Payroll Tax Analyst in our Omaha Corporate Office, your duties will include:
- Serve as primary point of contact for employees and internal teams for payroll tax matters
- Reviewing payroll results for accuracy
- Performing a risk assessment to prioritize US payroll tax calculations that should receive regular deep dive technical reviews and adjusting system calculations where necessary to ensure compliance with pertinent regulations.
- Maintain processes to reconcile payroll tax reporting after each pay run to ensure accurate filings by tax service provider
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of quarterly tax filings
- Reconcile Payroll reports to 941s and W-2s
- Researching, analyzing and resolving inquiries and notices from federal, state and local taxing authorities
- Assisting with any federal of state payroll audits
- Other duties as assigned
- Must have strong attention to detail, administer job duties with a high level of precision and accuracy, and have a team player attitude. Candidate will be expected to complete assigned duties within the established timeline, while maintaining compliance with the payroll regulations of applicable regions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience performing payroll or similar relatable experience
- In-house, multi-state U.S. payroll experience
- Experience researching and interpreting payroll tax regulations, documenting ERP requirements necessary to comply, and testing system calculations to verify their accuracy. Similar relevant experience is acceptable.
- Mobility/Expat experience
- MS Office proficiency, with focus in Excel capabilities
- Oracle EBS experience
- A/E/C industry experience
- Detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- Team oriented and willingness to learn new things
- Local candidates preferred
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
