Maxar has an immediate need for an Intelligence Production Technical Editor on our team at a customer site in Reston, VA. In this role, you will be part of a talented team using various sources of data against challenging, high-visibility and high-impact projects. Day-to-Day with your Colleagues:
Perform technical editing on all analytic products, briefings, and other written correspondence as required. Conduct quality review of analytic products and intelligence reports, to include:
Identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for logic, clarity, and consistency. Verify facts, dates, and statistics using referenced sources. Read, evaluate and edit finished reporting, presentations or other materials submitted for publication, and consult with authors regarding changes in content, style or organization, and publication. Ensure all finished intelligence reports adhere to DoD and intelligence community standards. Amend draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure the content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text. Conduct source checks and classification reviews for analytic products. Edit intelligence reporting for readability, formatting/layout, type setting, and correct classification.
Work with authors to revise products for narrative organization and negotiate further revisions as needed; help authors develop content based upon reader or audience appeal. Publish reports in RMT or other intelligence repositories. Support other technical editing external resourcing requirements including other DIA offices as needed. Translate analytic production data and accomplishments into quantifiable metrics. Perform or support production management analysis responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Analytic product scheduling and tracking, Analytic metrics, Management of UFAC's analytic dissemination and product verification process, Conversion of one analytic product format or classification to another.

Minimum Requirements:
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph. Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field. Minimum 8 years of experience related to Technical Editing within Intelligence Production with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction. Experience collaborating and working with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution. Ability to produce timely, logical, and concise analytic reports, documents, assessments, studies, and briefing materials in formats including Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), electronic / soft copy matrices and / or web-enabled formats. Significant experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint. Experience using Message traffic retrieval tools (Le. RMT, TAC, M3, Palantir, etc.) and MIDB/NPW. Knowledge of intelligence reports and DoD standards. Strong communication skills including and especially written; ability to communicate complex issues clearly in a concise and organized manner both verbally and non-verbally; with strong grammar skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with DIA and DNI analytic tradecraft, standards and styles, and the IC analytic production process, templates, and guidance. Experience using and complying with Intelligence Community Directive for Sourcing Requirements for Disseminated Analytic Products (ICD 206) (or subsequent revisions). Proficiency with MS Excel functions such as lookups and statistical calculations as well as pivot tables. Formal Intelligence Analysis training provided by a military service, an IC agency, or equivalent. Previously published FINTEL within the IC. Possess strong interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, and the Washington, DC metropolitan area is:
$81,000.00 - $115,000.00
