Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sourcing and supplier management for assigned product lines which support company objectives relative to fill rate, margin, and turns.
- Requests supplier quotes from existing list of suppliers or approved potential suppliers.
- Identifying and selecting potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery capabilities
- Analyzes quotes for cost effectiveness based on piece price, incoterms, MOQs and payment terms.
- Analyzes, negotiates, and implements supplier price changes.
- Generates and implements cost savings initiatives.
- Monitors reports on supplier performance and PPV.
- Establishes and maintains vendor relationships.
- Resolves vendor performance issues, including pricing discrepancies, payment terms, on-time delivery, and quality.
- Requests samples from suppliers for review and approval of the Product Management team.
- Reviews SCARS and supports issuing department in resolution.
- Maintains supplier information and documents in company portal.
- Assists in the data preparation of new products to be imported into SAP.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: Education:
Experience:
- 5 years progressively responsible purchasing functions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- SAP Experience (Preferred)
Skills:
- Must possess appropriate technical skills; C.P.M., A.P.P. or CPIM preferred
- Negotiation skills (Required)
- Ability to negotiate regarding price, minimum order quantities, payment terms, and incoterms.
- Ability to complete a total cost analysis of supplier quotes and impact analysis of supplier price increases.
- Ability to identify potential cost savings initiatives.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams both on-site and globally.
- PC use including MS Office (especially Excel), SAP, Internet and intranet, and various database and cataloging programs.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, trade papers, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Ability to write comprehensive reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information to managers, clients, customers, and the public, responding to questions as necessary.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Understanding of MRP.
- Working knowledge of importing process.
