Position Description

This position holds responsibilities that may involve supervision of a work unit and/or the undertaking of specialized work requiring a high level of expertise, such as cataloging or processing of manuscript collections. This title is reserved for use in the TTU Law Library.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Provides circulation services to patrons. Assists the circulation student workers as needed. (20%)
  • Maintains and updates all records in the Integrated Library System (ILS), including item records, holding records, serial check-in records, and microfiche records. (20%)
  • Assists with the management of the physical collection, including conducting an ongoing inventory of the physical collection, shelving and dressing items to maintain a user-friendly collection, binding and repairing items as needed, maintaining the physical layout of the microfiche collection and assisting patrons with its use. (20%)
  • Assists with the management of all Law Library spaces, including reviewing supplies and unlocking classrooms as needed. (20%)
  • Coordinate the sorting, delivery, and pick up of incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries to the law school (10%)
  • Coordinates ILL services for patrons. (5%)
  • Claims materials not received with designated claim time cycles. (5%)

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus two years work experience. Relevant, specialized work experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis. Additional job-related education may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis.

  • Meticulous attention to details.
  • Ability to perform complex problem-solving and use professional judgement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use the Integrated Library System (ILS).
  • Advanced proficiency in data entry and word processing.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry materials weighing in excess of 20- 30 lbs.
  • Ability to repeatedly walk up and down stairs to various parts of the building.

Pay Statement
