Summary Provide engineering expertise and support to all plants and departments throughout the company by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Maintain Documentation on all major controls systems throughout the company to minimize the risk of having any control system fail or if failure happens the downtime will be minimized to not substantially disrupt operations


  • Provide technical support and where necessary on-site support


  • Maintain a current back-up copy (<6 months old) of all PLC programs, Drive parameters, HMI programs, and other configurations for each site.


  • Implement and manage proper Preventative Maintenance for all major control systems to overall reduce our total cost in manufacturing


  • Maintain a list of passwords for all PLC's and controls systems.


  • Work with each area to develop remote access capabilities for all controls systems.


  • Make necessary program changes or hardware upgrades to all control systems where needed to improve operation while always meeting code and safety expectations


  • Implement new projects for all types of controls systems including robotics systems, automated systems, drive systems, and other control systems in manufacturing operation


  • Design, install, maintain, and repair all control systems including Allen-Bradley PLC's, Siemens PLC's, Ignition Systems, and associated HMI's.


  • Prepare full specifications and bid packages for new project work when needed.


  • Overtime and up to 30% travel is/may be required.



Supervisory Responsibilities

Provider dotted line guidance, training and feedback to all controls tech's withing the company.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics and 6+ year's related work experience.

Experience in the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of control systems including Allen-Bradley PLC's, Siemens PLC's, Ignition Systems and HMI's. Drive control design, operation and maintenance required. Robotic setup, configuration, and repair is a plus.



Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.



Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.



Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.



Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Access, Mini-tab, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.



Other Skills and Abilities

This position will be based in Calhoun, GA. Travel will be required to the various Mannington locations to provide support as needed.
