Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to join our team supporting software solutions that directly improve the daily lives of millions of Americans. In this role, you will collaborate closely with software developers, DevOps, and system engineers to ensure the successful testing and deployment of high-quality applications in a complex government environment. You will be responsible for validating new features, identifying and tracking defects, and supporting release readiness with robust testing strategies and documentation.

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test scripts, and test cases in support of both manual and automated testing efforts
• Test complex features of new software releases using structured test strategies aligned with BDD/TDD methodologies
• Identify, document, and communicate software defects using designated tools and systems
• Perform follow-up testing to confirm issue resolution and ensure software integrity
• Provide technical guidance to peers and cross-functional teams to improve quality and process effectiveness
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, System Engineers, and DevOps Engineers to resolve defects and improve test coverage
• Build and share test reports and quality metrics with engineering leadership and project stakeholders
• Evaluate testing tools and frameworks and implement enhancements to improve test automation and coverage
• Make decisions based on testing strategy, context, and product goals to ensure project success
• Apply industry best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
• Additional duties as assigned

• 3+ years of experience as a Test Engineer or QA Engineer within the government industry
• Hands-on experience delivering test cases and scripts using Selenium/WebDriver, Cucumber, Geb, Spock, SOAP UI, Postman
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and frameworks, including BDD/TDD
• Experience with test planning, defect tracking, release validation, and regression testing
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java, C++, C#, or Groovy
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe
• Ability to estimate test efforts, track progress, and clearly communicate risks or issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to performance and security testing tools
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $95,000.00. Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws.
