Pendleton Woolen Mills is searching for an agile, skilled, and Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Senior Accountant will perform reconciliations of GL accounts; monitor transactions within the Pendleton website and stores' ERP system; and provide support to the website Contact Center. This position will work with various members of the Accounting team in a variety of tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

RECONCILIATIONS

  • Reconcile GL accounts for the Retail Division, including Accounts Receivable, Purchasing Suspense, Inventory In Transit, Customer Deposits.

DAILY AND MONTHLY MANAGEMENT OF TRANSACTIONS

  • Utilize ERP software, Excel, and credit card processing gateway
  • Review, monitor, and adjust transactions, including sales and cash receipts, inventory adjustments, credit memos
  • Record monthly accounting entries
  • Review, adjust, code, and approve non Pendleton inventory invoices
  • Review and approve customer refund check requests
  • Process credit memos within corporate policy, resolve issues with refunds
  • Review, respond to, and manage credit card chargebacks

SUPPORT

  • Provide accounting and system support to website Contact Center with regards to sales/returns transactions
  • Respond to website Contact Center inquiries from customers concerning credit card or gift card transactions
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable, invoice processing, and variance resolution
  • Process Drop Ship inventory invoices and credit memos
  • Provide back up for the Accounting Supervisor
  • Participate in development of new initiatives and processes, perform testing, provide feedback
  • Various other tasks and projects as assigned

REPORTING

  • Prepare monthly Financial Statements for the Website Division and Corporate reporting
  • Prepares monthly reporting for Bank Review
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly inventory reporting for the Corporate Inventory Accounting Manager

CORE EXPECTATIONS

  • Fluency with accounting rules and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work with a high volume of data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another related field
  • 5 years of experience in accounting, or finance related field
  • 2 years of experience in accounting in retail or web-sales industry

SYSTEM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of NetSuite, preferred but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to use a computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to operate a keyboard by touch
  • Able to work Monday through Friday including some seasonal overtime, and some weekend hours when there are issues.
