THE HIGH LEVEL We're seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to manage and support our server and cloud infrastructure in a fully remote environment. In this role, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing physical and virtual servers, implementing security and compliance standards, and supporting cloud and virtualization platforms such as AWS, Azure, or VMware. You'll also develop automation scripts, document systems and processes, and collaborate closely with IT teams to ensure reliable performance and operational excellence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in a remote, team-oriented environment. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Server & Infrastructure Management Provision, install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux) to support organizational requirements. Monitor and optimize system performance, applying necessary upgrades to ensure high availability and efficiency. Collaborate with network teams to ensure seamless server-network integration. Security, Backup & Compliance Implement and manage security patches, system updates, and backup/disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity, compliance, and protection against cyber threats. Maintain comprehensive documentation of server configurations, policies, and procedures for auditing and compliance. Cloud & Virtualization Management Deploy and manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, VDI) to support scalable infrastructure. Automation & Scripting Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency. Support & Leadership Provide advanced troubleshooting and support to minimize downtime and service disruptions. Mentor junior administrators and collaborate across IT teams to implement and enforce industry best practices. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. You hold relevant certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or VMware Certified Professional. You have experience working in technical environments that require a strong understanding of infrastructure and system architecture. You were responsible for taking ownership of tasks and ensuring accountability for outcomes in remote or distributed work settings. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS No travel is expected for this position, and it will be 100% remote.
