Responsibilities

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with strong experience in both development and system administration for large-scale systems. This role will focus on designing and implementing automation solutions that enhance the effectiveness and reliability of our monitoring and system administration teams.

Key Responsibilities:

    Identify and automate tasks that are:
    • Risky to perform manually
    • Prone to human erro
    • Labor-intensive or time-consumin
    • Repetitive or inconsistently executed
  • Create sustainable tools that:
    • Serve as force multipliers for operational teams
    • Are at least as reliable and efficient as manual processes
    • Can operate with or without formal SOPs
  • Leverage automation frameworks (e.g., SALT, Puppet) when appropriate, while understanding their limitations
  • Develop custom solutions, including GUIs, to enable shift teams to safely and efficiently manage cluster operations
  • Use strong software development skills to build automation tools tailored to the environment and operational needs


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience. A Master's degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience. NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered
  • Sixteen (16) years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Ten (10) years experience in system engineering/architecture.
  • Ten (10) years experience working with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Hadoop, Acumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality et cetera.
  • Ten (10) years experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation.
  • At least four (4) years of experience managing and monitoring large Cloud System
  • Experience in performing and providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems to include monitoring technical health of a system, improving organizational processes, implementation of postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management.
  • One of the following certifications is required:
    • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator-Associate
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
    • Elastic Certified Engineer
    • Elastic Certified Observability Engineer
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

Target Salary Range

$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
