Using effective and efficient management principles and practices and in compliance with standards, laws and regulations as directed by regulatory and accrediting organizations, and state and federal governments the Manager of Operations will be responsible for all operational functions for the School of Dentistry, Faculty Dental The Oral Health Translational research group at Temple University is seeking candidates for a part-time Research Assistant position to work 20-24 hours per week. The Research Assistant will provide support for a clinical observational study evaluating the association between early fungal infection and childhood caries (funded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research). The study principal investigator is a dentist-scientist with significant training in both basic and translational research. Primary responsibilities of the Research Assistant will be to recruit study participants; conduct study visits; and manage data and study materials. In addition, the Research Assistant will assist with human subjects (IRB) activities; and collecting, entering and analyzing data. Opportunities will be made available to present research at local and national conferences, as well as authorship on peer-reviewed manuscripts, to interested candidates. Research Assistant may perform other study related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., public health, microbiology) and at least 6 months of experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Required Skills and Abilities:
* Conducting recruiting calls to potential study participants
* Meeting patients at the clinic to obtain informed consent
* Facilitating assessment interviews
* Conducting reminder calls for upcoming study visits
* Assisting with human subjects (IRB) activities related to the study
* Data collection, data entry, data management
* Maintaining participant files and other administrative duties
* Other duties as assigned
Preferred:
* Experience with patient-oriented research
This position will be on-site.
This position requires a background check.
This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
