About the role:

The Central Billing Senior champions client billing and practice management of all services provided by the firm by supervising family members that perform regular and ongoing analysis to collaborate with engagement teams, as well as with leadership. This role is accountable for supervising those that perform all duties related to timely and accurate client billing efforts within the firm.

As a Central Billing Senior, you will:

  • Supervision: Manage and supervise a team of Billing Coordinators.
  • Collaboration: Act as a liaison between Billing Coordinators, CRLs and engagement teams to ensure standard billing processes are followed. Collaborate with both the Billing Team and client-facing family members to ensure the timely and accurate submission of all invoices.
  • Review: Continual review of billing and data information to identify any discrepancies or errors.
  • Issue Resolution: Supervise Billing Coordinators in research and analysis to inform effective resolution to all billing and data issues.
  • Analysis: Stay up to date on industry regulations and trends across the firm related to client billing. Compare and analyze billing rates and job specifics across the firm to ensure industry consistencies and standards are met. Supervise and train Billing Coordinators on same. Prepare and submit reports on billing activity and trends.
  • Processing: Process and monitor invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness. Monitor Billing Coordinators in their processes to ensure the firm's full revenue cycle stays on track.
  • Practice Management: Supervise the Billing Coordinator involvement on other billing-related matters, as needed. May collaborate and assist on items such as new client setup, data validation, creation and maintenance of Billing Schedules, etc. Continually supervise the monitoring of prepaid, installment and scheduled bills for client WIP consumption necessary.
  • Client Interaction: Supervise the interactions between the Billing Coordinators and clients. Assist in communicating with clients and CRLs to resolve billing issues.
  • Training and Development: Responsible for the training and development of all Billing Coordinators. Develop and implement new billing processes and systems as additional standardization and automation become available.
  • Revenue Cycle Management: Supervise and oversee matters related to the entire revenue cycle such as AR posting, data management updates, AR adjustments, AR helpdesk, ad hoc client expense entries, etc., as needed.
  • Financial Analysis: Works with Billing Team leaders to assist in following up on aging A/R with engagement leaders, which may include direct interaction with clients. Actively supports and supervises the collaboration with engagement leaders on large work in process (WIP) jobs that need to be billed. Supports the Managing Principals (of Office, Industry and Service), Client Relationship Leaders, ("CRLs"), Operations Directors, and Billing Team Directors with proactive analysis of production, profitability, and overall financial performance on a weekly basis. Assists with implementation of firm-wide financial processes and initiatives.

What you will need:

  • 5 years of related billing or accounting experience required
  • High school degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Associates or Bachelor's Business Administration or Finance preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Workday or similar PSA software is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is necessary
