Essential Job Duties |
The Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will manage individual and team physical conditioning preparation & design, and implement evidence-based and data supported strength and conditioning programs to support medical, performance, and technical departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a seamless line of communication with the Assistant Athletics Director/Director of Strength and Conditioning regarding the health, welfare, physical or scholastic development of the student-athlete which includes timely reporting and response to the Director's inquiries or assignments.
- Collaborate with Head Coaches to ensure optimal player support and performance in season, out of season, and pre-season.
- Work in heavy collaboration with Pack Performance Team
- Weight management in conjunction with sport dietician
- Return to play protocols in coordination with sport medicine
- Outsource to Mental Health and Performance and Academics as needed
- Implement timely tests and evaluations of assigned programs to determine effectiveness of program.
- Manage and apply sport science equipment, data, and programs (Heart Rate Monitoring, Recovery Metrics, etc.) to monitor and report player development and manage player conditions during in season, out of season, pre-season, in game, pre-game, and post-game.
- Produce appropriate reports on sport specific metrics such as team/player loading and injury rehabilitation in collaboration with Sports Medicine, Nutrition, and Mental Health & Performance.
- Will be expected to provide input and remain current in sport specific performance/sport science training theories and methodology.

Other Responsibilities |
- Continually update personal knowledge of strength, speed, power training and injury prevention.
- Always wear State Strength issued clothing while working.
- Enforce intercollegiate weight room rules and etiquette.
- Be in full compliance with NCAA rules and regulation.
- Be in full compliance with NC State policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree required.
|
Other Required Qualifications |
CSCS certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and/or SCCC through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) certification required with or without reasonable accommodations.- Must be able to lift 90 pounds or more on a frequent basis, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's Degree preferred in Physical Education, Exercise Science or Related Field.
- 2 years experience working full time in a Collegiate Strength & Conditioning program.
- Experience working with collegiate, Olympic level Combat and weight class athletes
- Experience with collegiate level or professional tennis
- Knowledge of current trends and technologies in sport
