JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President of Operations will oversee production,
distribution, and maintenance teams daily to ensure safe & efficient plant
operations at multiple sites within a region. Additionally, the Vice President of Operations will be directly
responsible for safety, quality, and regulatory requirements as they relate to
personnel and the multiple plants under their direction. The Vice President of Operations will also
measure operational efficiency and monitor staffing needs to ensure all
locations operate safely and efficiently. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform

Essential Functions
Provide leadership in safety and quality under Matheson's corporate guidelines and directives.
Work with front line managers in managing plant production and distribution.
Provide response and reporting to the Zone Vice President regarding customer issues related to production and distribution.
Demonstrate and maintain a high level of customer focus, and customer commitment and ensure personnel at all locations demonstrate and maintain the same.
Track and control all plant expenses to ensure monthly and annual corporate goals are achieved
Develop and lead plant projects, control their schedule, and manage expenses to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Work directly with other Matheson locations to ensure the efficient use of corporate assets
Work directly with corporate management for the procurement of assets
Develop and update contingency and emergency plans
Provide training in the areas of safety, quality, processes, and procedures
Maintain clear thinking and professional composure in high pressure situations.
Perform other projects and duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly manages the multiple plant managers and region
operations managers in accordance with the organization's policies, and
applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving
problems.
Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical degree -
Required
Work Experience
7-9 years of experience in the aforementioned duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint)
Experience with principles and operation of mechanical
equipment such as pumps and compressors.
Experience with reading and understanding flow diagrams and
P&ID's
5+ Years plant, production, manufacturing, distribution, or
equivalent experience
5+ Years of management experience leading teams with 10 or
more members
Experience in industrial gas filling production or
distribution preferred
