The Warehouse associate will be responsible for coordinating the receiving and shipping of products to branches as well as external customers. Maintain a clean, effective working environment. With Facility Manager, be responsible for maximizing utilization of the warehouse. They will plan for, and maintain timeliness, accuracy and reliability of shipping and receiving along with the integrity of inventory quantities on hand.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.

  • Maintain an effective process for shipping, receiving and stocking of inventory

  • Research and report appropriate inventory adjustments

  • Maintain integrity of inventory quantity accuracy

  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly working environment

  • Organizes and controls site warehouse inventoried items.

  • Understand all functions of the warehouse including, order processing, inventory control, shipping manifest, computer support records and receiving processes. Be capable of training new associates on all processes

  • Stocks, stores, labels, picks/packs, and distributes materials and supplies.

  • Validates delivery of materials and provides a physical receipt.

  • Review incoming and outgoing product invoices per Company policy.

  • Safely operates a forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse/material handling equipment.

  • Follows appropriate Company policies and procedures (SOPs) as they relate to distribution, safety, etc.

  • Performs general site housekeeping duties as required.

  • Loads and unloads service trucks with gas cylinders, containers, and supplies for scheduled deliveries as directed by the dispatcher.

  • Responsible for adherence to company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers

  • Ensure that internal and external customers receive prompt acknowledgment and service in a pleasant manner.

  • Manage the import/ export of products from the facility.

  • All employees are expected to perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically described.

Required Education:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

  • Five to ten years of prior experience in warehouse operations and shipping and receiving is required. Management of import/export experience preferred.

  • Strong background in shipping and receiving, gas, welding, and safety supply or chemical industry preferred.

  • Proficiency working with personal computer applications such as Google G Suite Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.) preferred

  • Prior SAP experience preferred

  • Prior experience operating a forklift is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA's):

  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds

  • Ability to routinely lift 25-50 lbs., and occasionally lift 51-80 lbs.

  • Ability to perform work requiring frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion required

  • Ability to perform work requiring climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and finger activities

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

  • Ability to work independently

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Good phone skills

  • Forklift experience

  • Good problem solving skills and administrative accuracy

  • Proficient at planning with flexibility

  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace

The hourly base pay range for this position in California is $36/hr - $38/hr. Please note that the hourly base pay information is a general guideline only. Airgas considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Work Shift

Current shift is Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.
