The Center for Transgender Health (CTH) at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) seeks to hire a Program Manager to oversee coordination of the Center's clinical and programmatic activity. The CTH provides comprehensive medical and surgical services for patients seeking gender affirming care. This position will report to the CTH Co-Directors and to the Sr. Administrative Director for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the staff performing day-to-day operations and coordination of patient care within the Center. Additionally, the incumbent will be tasked with tracking and reporting on key performance indicators as well as taking an active role in program activities to include: educational and program meetings, marketing, staff and patient education, and supporting clinical research.
As Mass General Brigham continues to integrate services, this position will play an active role in streamlining surgical processes and pathways across the hospitals. As program offerings continue to evolve and expand, the Program Manager will be the central hub of coordination. Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Program Management Experience 2-3 years preferred

Experience working in a complex medical environment strongly preferred

Experience in transgender medicine preferred

An understanding of medical billing, medical information systems, insurance requirements and knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred

- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and delegate tasks, manage timelines, and drive results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with medical professionals, faculty, and staff at all levels.

- Demonstrated customer service abilities and ability to communicate compassionately with a diverse patient population

- Possess the ability to learn quickly and work independently toward objectives

1. Core Clinical Coordination Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating the highest quality experience for patients
  • Provide guidance and support to Practice Assistants supporting MDs who care for CTH patients.
  • Ensure timely and accurate insurance review and approvals.
  • Develop and oversee processes for tracking and coordination of patients seeking gender-affirming surgery across MGB departments.
  • Cross-coverage and backup support to core CTH admin staff, as necessary.

2. Program Responsibilities

  • Oversee development of marketing materials and patient-facing materials in collaboration with various departments.
  • Act as an expert resource and primary point of contact for gender affirming care, including development of best practices for Epic documentation, insurance pre-authorizations, and other matters as needed.
  • Facilitate and/or lead workgroups and CTH leadership/program meetings as appropriate, including meeting preparation.
  • Work with Center leaders to develop, maintain, and display metrics to track key performance indicators.
  • Develop plans for clinical research integration within clinical operations.
  • Train and orient new staff.

3. MGG-Wide Integration Responsibilities

  • Under direction from clinical and administrative leaders, develop plans to align surgical gender affirming care across Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
  • Working closely with providers and staff at all locations, document existing processes and identify opportunities to improve and streamline both patient and staff experience.
  • Align and oversee staff in dedicated gender-affirming surgery roles at both BWH and MGH.
  • Assist in the development of and oversee implementation of new policies, processes and procedures related to gender affirming surgery at MGB.
