The Systems Engineer II will play a key role in the New Product Development (NPD) team at Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT), applying systems engineering principles to solve complex, interdisciplinary challenges. This position is responsible for developing system-level solutions that meet customer needs and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, develop system architectures, and perform verification and validation activities. This role spans the full product development lifecycle-from early concept through market release-and focuses on requirements development, test methods, and design inputs for next-generation diagnostic medical devices, systems, and consumables.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify and develop innovative technical solutions to address business and clinical needs.
- Develop, implement, and improve systems engineering processes, including design inputs, test systems, tools, and custom test hardware/software.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define stakeholder needs and translate them into system and sub-system requirements.
- Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead and execute systems engineering activities across all phases of development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to drive timely, informed decisions that support project success.
- Conduct system-level verification and validation (V&V) activities.
- Support regulatory submissions and audits with appropriate documentation and technical input.
- Apply critical thinking to resolve complex system interaction challenges.
- Champion systems engineering best practices and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with BMT's Quality Management System (QMS) and documentation standards.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or Control Engineering preferred).
- 2+ years of engineering experience.
- Understanding of the systems development lifecycle.
- Strong written and verbal communication, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to build collaborative, trust-based relationships across functions.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Experience developing protocols, conducting system tests, and writing technical reports.
- Self-motivated with a passion for innovation and emerging technologies.
Preferred:
- Graduate degree in Engineering (EE, ME, or Systems Engineering) or related field.
- 2+ years of R&D experience in medical devices or related industries.
- Experience in concept development, customer interaction, systems engineering, and V&V.
- Familiarity with risk management and regulatory standards.
- Ability to clearly articulate and translate user needs into technical requirements.
- Working knowledge of system-level constraints across mechanical, electrical, software, and human factors domains.

- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Compensation & Total Rewards: Estimated Starting Salary Range: $112,000.00 - $124,000.00 *Estimated Starting Salary Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position.
