We are seeking a dedicated Associate Program Director (APD) to join our pediatric residency program leadership team. The APD works collaboratively with the Program Director and a second Associate Program Director to oversee a thriving residency program that trains 12 pediatric residents per class. The APD will also work closely with our 17 core faculty members to ensure excellence in resident education, training, and program administration. This position typically offers 20% dedicated time for educational and administrative responsibilities, with the remainder devoted to clinical duties, research, and other academic pursuits. Specific time allocation will be determined based on program needs and the candidate's other departmental responsibilities. An overview of the responsibilities of the position is outlined below. Educational Leadership: * Collaborate with the Program Director in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation for pediatric residents * Oversee specific educational components such as didactic sessions, simulation training, or quality improvement projects * Participate in resident assessment and competency evaluation processes * Contribute to the development and maintenance of educational materials and resources * Ensure compliance with ACGME requirements and program accreditation standards * Participate as a member of the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) Resident Supervision and Mentorship * Provide direct supervision and mentorship to residents across all training levels * Participate in resident remediation and performance improvement plans when needed * Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with assigned residents to discuss progress and career development * Serve as a resource for residents regarding academic, professional, and personal concerns * Participate in resident recruitment, selection, and match processes Administrative Duties * Assist with scheduling rotations, conferences, and educational activities * Participate in program evaluation and continuous quality improvement initiatives * Maintain accurate records and documentation for program compliance * Participate in committee work at departmental and institutional levels when relevant to the pediatric residency program Faculty Development and Collaboration * Work collaboratively with the core faculty members to maintain an environment conducive to learning, patient safety, and resident well-being * Participate in faculty meetings and educational planning sessions * Contribute to faculty development initiatives as needed * Foster a positive learning environment and promote multidisciplinary collaboration Program Assessment and Improvement * Monitor program outcomes, including board pass rates, graduate performance, and program evaluations * Analyze resident and faculty feedback to identify areas for program enhancement * Participate in annual program evaluation * Participate as a member of the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) * Stay current with bestpractices in medical education and pediatric training * Attend yearly educational conference such as Association of Pediatric Program Director (APPD) conference People are at the heart of everything we do, and the inspiration for our legacy of outstanding outcomes, innovation, strong community partnerships, philanthropy and transparency. Required Qualifications * MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school * Board certification in Pediatrics * Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program * Current medical license and hospital privileges * Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in pediatrics * Previous experience in medical education, teaching, and mentorship roles Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience in residency program leadership * Experience with ACGME accreditation processes * Demonstrated scholarship in medical education Corewell Health Children's Hospital - Royal Oak:
